Unlawful Use of UAS (R.S. 14:337)Effective: 8/1/2014

Prohibits intentional use of a UAS to surveil targeted facilities or correctional grounds without written consent, and authorizes seizure of the aircraft.

Adds UAS-based photography and video recording to Louisiana’s voyeurism statutes, punishable as a misdemeanor.

Regulation & Preemption of UAS (R.S. 2:2)Effective: 8/1/2014

State has exclusive jurisdiction over unmanned aircraft systems and all local drone regulations are preempted.

UAS Registration & Licensing Fees (HB 335 // Act 545)Effective: 8/1/2016

Authorizes the establishment of state UAS registration and licensing fees, capped at $100.
