Unlawful capture of image with intent to conduct surveillance (§ 39-13-903)Effective: 7/1/2013

Prohibits using an unmanned aircraft to capture images without consent, including images of private persons or property, open-air event venues (>100 people), over correctional facilities, fireworks display sites, and within 250' of critical infrastructure.

Freedom from Unwarranted Surveillance Act (§ 39-13-609)Effective: 7/1/2013

Requires law enforcement agencies to obtain a warrant (or meet recognized exceptions) before using drones to gather evidence, mandates deletion of non-relevant data within 15 business days, and grants a civil cause of action for violations.
