Low or Dangerous Flight; Landing on Land or Water of Another (W.S. 10-4-303)Effective: 1/1/2024

Flight of unmanned aircraft over state lands and waters is lawful unless at low altitude interfering with land use, imminently dangerous, or violating FAA regs; landing on another’s land or water without consent is unlawful except forced; owner liable for actual damages.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Correctional Institutions – Felony (W.S. 6-5-214)Effective: 1/1/2023

Violations of paragraph (b)(iii) of W.S. 6-5-214 for delivering or attempting to deliver a deadly weapon to a penal institution with a UAS.

Wyoming Aeronautics Commission Rulemaking (SF 170)Effective: 3/6/2017

Authorizes the Wyoming Aeronautics Commission to promulgate rules governing takeoff, landing, and operation of unmanned aircraft systems; excludes navigable airspace; prohibits unauthorized landings on another’s property.

Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Correctional Institutions – Misdemeanor (W.S. 6-5-214)Effective: 1/1/2023

Except as authorized by a person in charge of a penal institution, no person shall trespass over or in a penal institution or on the grounds of a penal institution with a UAS to photograph, surveil, broadcast, record, or convey contraband.
